I love music that explores liminal spaces (think videoparlor by QuantumWave), and I really enjoy Personal System 個人システム’s take on the genre. These 80s/90s-tinged tracks acknowledge the mundane details of life (answering machine voices), and the music is haunting but warm. Hoping for a cassette! Here’s a cool interview: electronicgroove.com/personal-system-interview-2023/
"The intriguing liminal state of the mind. The feverish state between the conscious and the unknown that takes you to many places, including a laundry room with an infinite number of doors, all guiding to the same locations, embraced by a profound sense of emptiness.
A peculiar "dream" serves as the inspiration for the 5-track EP 'Soundtrack For Laundry Dreams', the first work by Nørus as Personal System 個人システム, a new project that delves even deeper into the waters of the strange and the nostalgic."
